..I just purchased a `00 R1100R with 39K miles.The BMW has done 38,000 miles, never had a pillion and not had a hard life, but the rear shock gone..The stock front and rear shocks on the BMW R 1200 perform well most of the time, but their range of adjustment is limited and they can become overwhelmed by heavy loads or extreme riding conditions. Ohlins are off the table, but I might just be able to squeak something else& .Most later model (mid to late `90s on) BMW and MINI models employ a front shock/strut design that allows the complete shock and spring assembly to be removed from the vehicle without disconnecting the steering knuckle,&

Received the "new" BMW Shocks for the sidecar so installed them today. Replacement BMW Shock around £1,200. My `02 R1150R needs new shocks after only 82000 km.My "new" OEM BMW Shocks I purchased have been shipped so I should have them installed sometime next week
